Jazz Festival Founders to be Honored at Stockton PAC Concert

Join us for Grace Kelly's performance on Monday October 24th where Cape May Jazz Festival founders Carol Stone and Woody Woodland are being honored for there recent contributions to Stockton College Library where a Cape May Jazz Festival Archive has been established.

Having studied saxophone since the age of ten, Grace is lighting up the jazz music world and the stage of the Stockton Performing Arts Center on Monday, October 24th.

POMONA - Show time is 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $25 and $40 and may be ordered online at www.stockton.edu/pac or by calling the Box Office at (609) 652-9000. CAROL STONE AND WOODY WOODLAND FOUNDED THE CAPE MAY JAZZ FESTIVAL IN 1993. THE BIANNUAL, THREE-DAY FESTIVAL HAS GROWN IN ATTENDANCE FROM 300 TO OVER 8,000 PEOPLE AND IS NOW ONE OF THE LARGEST, MOST WELL RESPECTED AND LONGEST RUNNING JAZZ FESTIVALS IN NEW JERSEY. UNFORTUNATELY CAROL AND WOODY RESIGNED FROM THE FESTIVAL LAST YEAR.

 

CAROL AND WOODY'S DONATION INCLUDES THEIR PERSONAL CD COLLECTION OF JAZZ GREATS, DVD'S, PHOTOS, REVIEWS, AND OTHER IMPORTANT MATERIAL AND IS NOW A PART OF STOCKTON COLLEGE'S NEWLY FORMED CAPE MAY JAZZ FESTIVAL ARCHIVE.
